Hi Betty,
Ohhhhh, do I remember that feeling of frustration and I had more than a bit of fear that I was the one person this wasn't going to work for ... but we both know how that turned out.
The fact that you started your soft foods stage of your diet and your stall are purely coincidental. Most of us find that we stall somewhere between 2 and 6 weeks out from surgery. This happens for a myriad of reasons, but as Dr. DeMaria explained to me most of us lose in a 'stair step' pattern instead of a 'slide' downhill. He explained to me that it's a part of our bodies natural protection mechanism to try to do everything it can to hold on to the 'precious' food stores we are working so hard to get rid of. Eventually your body loses the battle and you lose pounds. If you haven't done so already, please be sure to check your measurements. Very often, when the scale is being stingy with the numbers, the tape measure is showing progress.
Something that was a great help to me when this would happen, was www.thinnerself.com. I was able to track my progress against others that match my demographics. This really helped me because when I often thought I wasn't doing well, I'd plug in my numbers and find I was ahead of the curve. I'll bet you will too!
Hang in there and stay with the program. You are making progress, even if you can't 'see' it on the scales.
